The #1 thing that is holding you back in your salon business is Limiting Beliefs.

I know you may not want to hear that, but it’s true.

I want to share something personal with you, that 100% translates to your business. Just bear with me and read until the end.

About 6 months ago I started drinking this daily supplement that heals your gut and microbiome. When I signed up for it, it came with a free affiliate program, so I was like, ‘sure.’ And I never intended to sell it. (keep reading, I’m not selling it to you)

Part of me wanted to start sharing about it on social media, but I hate the name of it, and I don’t EVER want someone to feel like I’m selling to them. And because it’s a ‘health’ item, I question if I’m even qualified to share it.

But THEN, I was talking with a friend and she totally challenged me.

She said ‘If it didn’t cost money, would you talk about it?’

My answer, ‘YES!’

I would tell everyone they need it because it has helped me so much in my life. It has helped me feel more stability around that time of the month - if you know what I’m saying.

And after this long discussion with my friend, she called me out. She said ‘You are having limiting beliefs.’

Which is ironic - because I’m a business coach for hairstylists (who sell retail). ☠️

I know better.

I know to detach from my client's wallets and just share with them the solutions I have to offer through products and services. Period. Regardless of how much it costs…that’s their decision.

So what about you? Do you wrestle with the same hesitations?

Do you anticipate your client's response instead of ASKING them and seeing what their ACTUAL response will be?

This week reconfirmed that everything I worked through behind the chair, can still show up.

So I had to remind you…

You are being driven by your limiting beliefs vs a servant's heart.

What is a limiting belief?

According to BetterUp.com “A limiting belief is a thought or state of mind that you think is the absolute truth and stops you from doing certain things. These beliefs don't always have to be about yourself, either. They could be about how the world works, ideas, and how you interact with people.”

So even though we are aware of this…why do we get stuck in the rut sometimes?

Well, it’s because we are already anticipating their answer.

Our job is to serve our clients at the highest level, serving them from our hearts and what we truly know is best for them.

How do we do this? How do we actually unlock our limiting beliefs?

Do not allow yourself to anticipate the client’s answer and just give them all the options they will love, detaching yourself from their wallet, and watching what happens!

So, will I end up selling this supplement Iove - probably. But I will talk about it from a genuine place of caring for everyone's well-being and gut health.

Why don’t we all give ourselves permission to share the things we love, unapologetically shall we?

My prayer for you is that you will stand confident in your knowledge and expertise, sharing what you love with people you care about. I pray you silence your limiting beliefs and use the gifts God has given you to touch others' lives and hearts.
