Finding Purpose and Clarity: The Importance of Staying Deeply Connected to Your Why
I recently asked a group of stylists ‘How did you know you wanted to be a hairstylist?’ And SO MANY responses came in about passion, purpose, and changing the way people FEEL about themselves.
There were stories of helping people with cancer, alopecia, and an overall lack of confidence.
The problem is, we end up just going through the motions without a sense of purpose. Or we become resilient to how the clients are feeling when they arrive. Maybe we are running late, or had a rough morning, or there is something heavy on our mind. Or maybe we’ve been behind the chair so long that what used to be a client problem we were excited to solve, is now an annoying request.
Our clients deserve our best. They deserve consistency and reliability. Your clients could choose to go to ANY stylist, and they chose you. Don’t lose sight of how deeply meaningful it is to have someone appreciate your skillset and expertise.
You have to stay connected to your ‘Why’ to stay motivated, focused, and intentional with each and every client in our chair.
So how do we do this? How do we stay deeply connected to our why?
Get Value based clarity. What I mean by that is have a clear understanding of your values and use them to guide your actions and decisions.
Our values are the principles and beliefs that are most important to us, such as honesty, integrity, compassion, or creativity.
When we have value-based clarity, we are able to make decisions that are aligned with our core values, which gives us a sense of purpose and fulfillment. This can also help us navigate difficult situations and make choices that are in line with our beliefs and principles.
If you need help clarifying your values and aligning them with a clear plan for your business, please book a Free 30-Minute Mentor Session with Mandy here.
It’s time to press reset and get back to operating out of purpose and meaning, not survival mode.
Clarity and direction in your business can be the float that helps you swim.
My prayer for you is that you are so connected to your ‘Why’ that you will not be shaken by the world around you. That you will stay laser-focused on what will bring you joy in life and business.
