5 Ways to Grow Your Clientele FAST

When I decided in 2012 that it was time to get back in the beauty industry, I was 6 months pregnant and had 2 additional mouths to feed.

Starting all over was scary!

I’ve always loved being a stylist and I was so tired of working a ‘stable job’ instead of pursuing my passion. But that stable job meant stable income.

And the truth is, we need money to survive. We need money to provide for our families. And while I am a woman of faith and have seen God provide in incredible and unique ways, we can’t just sit back and hope He’ll take care of it all.

He has given us gifts to use to help provide. He also has a TON of financial advice woven throughout scripture! So we know He intended for us to steward our gifts well.

The problem is we learn that it takes 2-4 years to build a full clientele, and I’m telling you right now, I didn’t have 2-4 years, I needed money to support my family NOW.

And if this is you, I’m so glad you’re here!

I am passionate about stylists building and growing no matter what is happening in the world around them.

So how do we do this? How do we grow our clientele FAST?

1. ASK! Ask your current clients for referrals.
2. Create an Invitation Card with a complimentary or one time only discounted services
3. Join a Networking Group - this will ignite growth if you’re in the right one
4. Create a Referral Program, and I don’t mean the traditional ‘you get $25 off, they get $25 off. No. Make it unique, personalized, and exciting!
5. Dress the Part. Potential clients will be attracted to your overall style/vibe. Act what you want to attract.

And if you currently have a FULL clientele and you’ve already done all the things listed above, I want to encourage you to continue to take NEW clients - even if you have to put them on a waiting list.

Because you never know when the world will shift or something will happen, and that cancellation list is what is going to save your business.

My favorite moment of my career was when I implemented my dream schedule Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 9-2pm while still making $1,000 a day!

I had the freedom of time to drop my kids off at school AND be there to pick them up.

Being a mom and a business woman was hard, but I found a balance. I created systems that set me up to be there for my kids.

My prayer for you is, if this is on your heart too and you have a deep desire to be available and involved in your children’s life, that you find your balance. You find a pace that brings stability. That God provides for you in the most abundant way, and that you stay disciplined in whatever it is that you implement to get you there.
